Facts#
- Sean Cummins, 16 in May 1995; computer engineer at PDC Services (a Sun reseller) and his township's "tech guy". On #trax since about mid-1994.
- Path: KingMod from a local BBS (he tracked a song of his own band), ModEdit, then ST3 from a Virginia BBS; the ANSI group REM's music division under nemesis kept him going. Tried fasttracker-2 but never got comfortable with its interface.
- ACiD: invited by pinion, the music coordinator, after sending Mirage; on ACiD's 1995 musicdisk (player by FU, graphics by cat) with Pinion, Rimbo, psibelius, Pianoman, basehead and himself.
- Workflow: new samples first — "without new samples, i have absolutely NO creativity" — then drums, chord progression, details, lead (tracking-workflow). Piano six years, clarinet one, bass a year and a half (his theory comes from the bass lessons).
- Influences: Nemesis, Khyron, Parity Error, necros, Dizzy, Basehead. Best-known songs Battle of the Fireflies and Mirage.
