Scoop Designs
The Dutch C64 demo group that maniacs-of-noise grew out of: C=Lehti's 1989 profile calls SCOOP known for demos polished and planned to the last detail, with charles-deenen coding the top ones and jeroen-tel and Marcel Donné supplying the music that "sävähdyttivät suurta yleisöä" — thrilled the big audience (source: s-c-lehti-maniacs-of-noise).
Facts#
- Tel joined at 14 — in 1986, the same year he started Maniacs of Noise with "Charles Deenen (TMC from SCOOP DESIGNS)" — after HCS (Helmond Cracking Service) and The Artworks; in 1996 he called that year Scoop's "10th aniversary" and the group "alive and kicking even today with a lot of members" (source: s-imr-jeroen-tel-interview).
- Deenen's scene handle was "TMC/Scoop Designs" (as Tel gave it in 1994) or "TMC/Scoop"; in 2010 Deenen introduced himself as "co-founder of Maniacs of Noise and Scoop" (sources: s-domination01-jeroen-tel-interview, s-c64com-charles-deenen-interview).
- The name survives in the recovered MoN sources as a business label: Armada's musicfile banner reads "Scoop Designs L.T.D. in 1989", and Deenen's second player is "(C) Scoop designs ltd. / m.o.n." (sources: s-realdmx-ouwehand-mon-tunes, s-realdmx-deenen-test-tunes).
