CSDb forum: Huelsbeck TFMX? (2006)
A short thread that settles what the scene knows about the C64 tfmx editor: nothing of it ever circulated.
Key claims#
- Bamu: "Does anyone know if Chris Huelsbeck released his player/editor TFMX (c64 version)? I'm looking since many years now, but I can't find it." Groepaz: "yes TFMX has neither been spread nor leaked in any way." Yodelking: "Hehe.. well that's almost true. :) Anyway, Chris said he would release it some years ago, but wanted to write proper documents for it, so he wouldn't get too many questions about how to use it. He's a busy man, so I guess it won't happen any time soon."
- Yodelking's dating: "C-64 version of TFMX Editor was done 1987 by Chris … Chris used his Soundmonitor from 1986-1987 (and an adapted version of soundmonitor with digis also 1987). Then some time in 1987 switched to TFMX ed." Example tune:
/Huelsbeck_Chris/Starball.sid. (VGMPF dates the switch to summer 1988 — s-vgmpf-soundmonitor-tfmx; the Starball example agrees.) - Groepaz's aside: "tfmx, just like any other of his soundengines, has its own unique crappy sound :=P".
Relevance to the wiki#
Confirms tfmx (C64) as unreleased and unleaked as of 2006, and records the 1987-vs-1988 dating discrepancy for lint.
