Facts#

  • Rescored Ninja Remix, System 3's cartridge re-release of last-ninja-2, after Gray had left: new intro music, and every level rewritten in the MoN driver because "Reyn couldn't work in Matt's driver" — covers of Daglish's Wastelands, of Gray's own Central Park and of Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence; Chris Abbott calls it "one of the first steps in birthing Reyn Ouwehand — musical amazingness" (source: s-remix64-ninja-remix).
  • Started out in the Dutch USA-Team's Music Assembler, one of the Hubbard-clone players of the late 1980s (source: s-recollection-brief-history-of-sid).

The sources (2026-08-30)#

  • Armada (1989): "Player by Charles Deenen / 1989 Scoop Designs" — the MUSICFILE V01-07-1988 driver with a banner "Scoop Designs L.T.D. in 1989 / Special version for :Reyn Ouwehand" and a text string "music by reyn ouwehand from scoop designs"; seven tunes (get ready, level completed, hall of fame, game over, in-game, start, title) and 25 named instruments (bass, bassdrum, snaredrum, 51-kort, lead, leadlong, lead-heavy, bass met fil, 21-ding, big-git …) — the bank is on musicfile and instrument-design (source: s-realdmx-ouwehand-mon-tunes).
  • Dutch Breeze (1990 MON): "This is the original sourcecode of Dutch Breeze", "MUSIC BY REYN OUWEHAND '90 " — in a rewritten MoN player (intro + loop sequences, legato, rests, segment filters, looping drum tables, detune) whose author the file does not name (source: s-realdmx-ouwehand-mon-tunes).
