TW #74 — Motherboard Sampling (Spieg)
A found-sound trick: an onboard SB16 Vibra picks up the computer's own electrical noise; with the input gain cranked, keystrokes, mouse movement and program loads each produce distinct noises ("the mouse would always sound like a little race car from an old Intellivision game"), which Spieg sampled and "jammed" into a track.
Relevance#
A footnote for chip-samples / instrument-design: noise sources are everywhere.
