WitchMaster (Mikael Norrgård)
Author of the e-book Creating Chiptunes with SID-Wizard (first edition 2012 on CSDb, second edition 2014-02-11 co-credited to hermit), written because the official manual left out "some stuff … that SID gurus know but beginners don't". CSDb user name witchmaster; new editions announced on witchmastercreations.com; he mailed Hermit questions while writing and thanks him for the answers (source: s-witchmaster-creating-chiptunes-with-sid-wizard). The SID-Wizard 1.8 manual credits "Witchmaster (ebook, testing)" (source: s-sid-wizard-manual).
The book's own contributions beyond the manual text: the SID chip chapter built on the 6581 datasheet, hardware and VICE setup chapters, the three worked instruments (Bazz, Snare, Arpeggio — see instrument-design), the pattern tutorial, the tempo→BPM derivation, and the appendix tables (hex conversion, absolute notes, ADSR timings).
The book is the first recommendation to a SID-Wizard newcomer on Lemon64 in 2020 — "a (free) book on it by WitchMaster (he's involved in the project I believe)" — and again in 2021 for its chapter 13 on the export formats (sid-format) (sources: s-lemon64-learning-sid-sound-design, s-lemon64-sid-wizard-instrument-recommendations).
