Seventeen-year-old tracker from Albany, Oregon, a member of SPiCE (dj_moses's group with Happy Fetus Records) and, from November 1995, of zinc's Radiance; interviewed by Trifixion in traxweekly #35. The single source for this page is that interview (source: s-tw035-interview-loki).

Facts#

  • Tracking since about mid-1994 with ST3, given to him by an old school friend; listening to modules for two or three years before (first dirt.mod, then nolimit.mod); online for about five months; entered MC3.
  • Influences skaven ("hardcore"), breakbeat and techno, u4ia; 808 State, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Marilyn Manson, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani.
  • Writes classical, easy listening, techno and breakbeat; "classical is a deeper outlet than techno". Favourite own tune "Father" (l-fthr.s3m); all files prefixed l-.
  • Predicted in 1995 that companies would pay the best trackers — "midi is too expensive, and analog sounds so much better" — while fearing a "2 Unlimited"-style exploitation of the scene (see commercial-tracking).
  • Gives Radiance's founders as "Zinc and imager" (Zinc's own account names Jake Blues and Acidfrog: s-tw032-interview-zinc).
