TW #106 — A Little Panning (Airon)
A conversion chart between Impulse Tracker's two ways of writing panning: the volume-column pan (0–64) and the Xyy effect (00–FF). Reading the chart, the relation is simply volume-column value = Xyy ÷ 4: X00 = 0, X20 = 8, X40 = 16, X80 = 32 (centre), XC0 = 48, XFF = 64. Useful when you want the pan in the volume column to free the effect column for an offset or delay command.
The same issue's closing section lists the TraxWeekly staff of 1997 — editor Psibelius (Gene Wie); writers Atlantic (Barry Freeman), Behemoth (David Menkes), Bibby (Andrew Bibby), Mage (Glen Dwayne Warner), Zinc (Justin Ray) — the 78-column submission format, distribution via ftp.hornet.org and a listserver, and "TraxWeekly is a HORNET affiliation."
