Italian SID composer from Naples (born about 1980; "30 years ago" in 2010), a former programmer who made his first serious C64 music around 2003 and composed the title tune of the C64 conversion of Pushover; "I don't consider myself a scener nor a musician" (source: s-sidin13-tsm-freedom-interview).

Facts#

  • C64 in 1988, Amiga 500 in 1992; years of FastTracker II modules on PC before returning to the sid because "the sound of the SID is the thing that most amazed me" and because he cannot play a conventional instrument.
  • Editors: CyberTracker (Cyberbrain) first — FastTracker-like, but its beta packer made songs too big and rastertime-hungry, some unpackable, so "almost unusable for demos, games"; then his own minimal player ("no effects whatsoever, no hardrestart routine and no memory optimizations", two tunes: bath.sid, willow.sid); since 2006 goattracker, chosen for the Pick Up Sticks tune Ian Coog, Roberto and Pippo79 asked for — "mouse support and an interface very similar to that of FastTracker II. It is thought in a very rational way". He would like a native editor for the C128's 80-column mode with 1351 mouse (sid-player-routine, hard-restart).
  • Prefers tracker-style to duration-based editors; never tried sample channels; prefers the real machine; prefers the 8580 — more combined waveforms, consistent between chips, and 6581s "are very fragile".
  • Pushover (Amiga → C64 by Pippo79 and Raffox): tunes made from scratch or converted MED → MOD → GoatTracker, then instruments and corrections; his title tune is likely his only one in the final game — freedom took over when he stopped.
  • Own worst / best: Q-Game / perhaps Vieni avanti cretino (a cover); favourite authors Ben Daglish, jeroen-tel, rob-hubbard, Tim Follin, david-whittaker, chris-huelsbeck; favourite SIDs Krakout and the Ghouls'n'Ghosts title.
