Leviathan

Musician of Renaissance and kosmic who wrote traxweekly's first article, "Modal and Chord Theory" (#1, 12 March 1995) — a modal chart and degree-based chord formulas for the self-taught (source: s-tw001-modal-and-chord-theory). DennisC thanks him among the chiptune makers of the 20-minute-chip-compo era (source: s-tw037-death-of-the-chiptune-debate). Catspaw counts him with necros, basehead and Aahz as the trained musicians whose background he wishes he had, and among the "just plain nice" people of the scene (source: s-tw057-interview-catspaw). mrdata's listener's guide (March 1996) recommends "stuff by Leviathan, Heatbeat, or Mellow-D for best results" (source: s-tw051-how-to-listen-to-tracked-music).

In the interviews (1995–96)#

• Wrote a joint NAID 1995 entry with nemesis — "it rox" (source: s-tw004-interview-nemesis).
• A favourite of big-jim (source: s-tw013-interview-big-jim); greeted by Fred (source: s-tw031-interview-fred); "levi" is one of zalt's "not-so-many but very unique" American trackers, with Necros and Basehead (source: s-tw040-interview-zalt).
• Taught vegas the basics of theory on IRC in late 1995 ("big thanks to Leviathan and Inner Vision"); Vegas names him first among his influences and thanks him first; in October 1995 Leviathan had asked him what he wanted from tracking (source: s-tw062-interview-vegas; see chord-progressions).
