Pinion (Ryan Hunt)
Musician of ACiD, pHluid and Lucid (pinion@netcom.com, www.acid.org/phluid) and author of the "Impulse Tracker Tip of the Week" column in traxweekly #81–#89 (December 1996 – February 1997): reverb from looped tails and volume envelopes, NNAs, random melodies with volume swing, Jxx on noise with pitch envelopes, pitch-envelope sirens, reversed loops via ping-pong + offset, Yxy stereo phase, proper amplification (source: s-tw081-it-tip-of-the-week). His stated motive: IT "has too many features that are not utilized to their full potential".

- Ryan Hunt, 21 in June 1995, student and semi-professional rock climber. Brought into tracking by the ACiD ANSI artist SOmms; proposed an ACiD music division with a monthly disk and was made its coordinator by Radman — the origin of pHluid, which he wanted to grow into a self-supporting group of the best musicians.
- Tracking since early 1994; first songs on the disk Stigma; Rage of Motion came out of a "meditation"-like session.
- Influences: necros above all, basehead, and "the olde skool guys" purple-motion and skaven. Drums since 8th grade, guitar, some piano; "I dont really have much theory to work off of … I have perfect pitch, so that helps."
- Works by loading samples and playing until a bass line appears, then layering; advises newcomers to "think big".
- As ACiD's music coordinator he recruited beaner after hearing Mirage; ACiD's 1995 musicdisk (player by FU, graphics by cat) was to carry Pinion, Rimbo, psibelius, Pianoman, basehead and Beaner (source: s-tw011-interview-beaner).
