"Faces in the Crowd" interviewer of traxweekly from October 1995 to January 1996 and the author of "Chiptunes Aren't Dead!" (#38), the reply to Szalemandre's "The Death of the Chiptune". - Dennis Courtney; one of the four staff (with kal-zakath, master-of-darkness and atlantic) of the one-week "Faces In The Crowd: The Publication" of October 1995; the #29 header prints Master of Darkness's
maz@io.orgnext to his name, evidently a copy-and-paste slip (source: s-tw029-faces-in-the-crowd-esper-division). Kal Zakath credits him among the helpers who made FITC "a many-faceted production" (source: s-tw034-interview-deus-ex). - Interviews: esper-division (#29, "Interview #5"), luv-kohli (#31), zinc (#32, a week after Zinc first joined #trax), and in #41 (4 January 1996) Shawn of NOISE, mick-rippon — the interview Kal Zakath had promised in #34 — and Zinc again, on the Impromptu Compo (sources: s-tw029-faces-in-the-crowd-esper-division, s-tw031-interview-luv-kohli, s-tw032-interview-zinc, s-tw041-interview-shawnm, s-tw041-interview-mick-rippon, s-tw041-interview-zinc, s-tw034-interview-deus-ex). The "Interview #10" printed on both the Luv Kohli and the Zinc pieces is FITC's series count, repeated in error — not his tenth interview, as s-tw032-interview-zinc reads it (source: s-tw031-interview-luv-kohli). His Zinc interview sits beside Master of Darkness's "Complaints" in #32 (source: s-tw032-fitc-complaints).
- "Chiptunes Aren't Dead!" (#38, 15 December 1995): "the bleepy little s3ms and mods (and xms…)"; he once tracked a tune "using only st3.doc for samples"; finding or making decent samples takes too long, "so I don't think there's any harm done in looping bits of bytes"; the chippy sound is nostalgic for "earlier forms of personal-computer music"; 80–99 % of all tracked music is crap anyway, so bad chips get ignored like anything else; thanks sikamikanico, necros, marwin, leviathan, mystical, calvin, lepra and amusic (source: s-tw037-death-of-the-chiptune-debate; see chiptune, chip-samples).
